Mobile app quick start

Connect, explore, and see live data

Pair the pre-flashed device, view live sensors, and try the outputs—no code required.

ScopeApp onlyStarting levelNo code

Have these ready

  • A charged SensWear device
  • Current pre-flashed firmware
  • Android or iOS device
  • Bluetooth permission

Prepare the hardware

Connect the supported daughter board and power on the main board. The firmware advertises with a name beginning with Sens Wear, SensWear, or SenseWear.

Open a native build of the app

Install SensWear from your preferred mobile store when a signed release is available, or build the current app from source with the commands below. BLE is native, so Expo Go cannot run it.

git clone https://github.com/Sens-Wear/mobile-app.git
cd mobile-app
npm install
npm run android

# On macOS with Xcode:
npm run ios

Pair the device

Allow Bluetooth access, open the pairing screen, scan, and select your SensWear device.

Explore the platform

Open the available sensor cards to view IMU, raw red/infrared/green PPG, temperature, and touch data. You can also test the RGB LED and haptics, and export PPG samples as CSV.

Done when

A live sensor screen is updating. No firmware, BLE, or application code was changed.

Important

The app reports raw sensor data. PPG charts are not heart-rate or SpO₂ measurements, and SensWear is a research platform—not a diagnostic medical device.
